F.I.R.S.T. Robotics Team 1796, the RoboTigers, is a high school robotics team from Queens Technical High School In Long Island City, New York. We are made up of 30 students(grades 9-12) and 8 mentors. Our mentors consist of college students as well as faculty mentors from the school.

 

For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (F.I.R.S.T), is an organization for inspiring young people to become involved in science and technology by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.

 

 

Our Mission is to make STEAM Education an accessible resource for everyone in NYC.

Our School

Our team is based in Long Island City, NY at Queens Technical High School, where students graduate with a CTE (Career & Technology Education) Endorsed High School diploma.

Our Members

Our team is constructed with different subgroups such as Brand Management, Design, Electronics, Fabrication, Operations, and Programming. Each subgroup and student has specific responsibilities within the team. Together we create a competitive robot and make an impact in our community.

Outreach

Over the years the Team 1796, the RoboTigers have participated and hosted a multitude of Outreach Events within our community. 

 

Our mission is  simple...

make STEAM education accessible to everyone. No matter their area code, immigration status, or family income, we want to ensure that any child can have the opportunity to learn about STEAM fields and the opportunities within them through FIRST.
