Competing in a field like robotics requires an entire team. Our team of 30 students and 9 mentors is divided into sub-groups that each specialize in a field.
We often compare our team’s structure to the human body. The Programming, Fabrication, and Electronics sub-groups are the skeleton and muscle of the team and provide the foundation for us to build a robot and compete. Our operations, design, and brand management sub-groups are the nervous system of the team. They provide us with an identity, allows us to have creative expression, and keep the team running. All of our sub-groups are necessary for the success of the team. Together all of our sub-groups work to create one body, one team that embodies and reflects all of us.
Subgroups
Brand Management
The Brand Management sub-group cultivates the culture and image of the team in creative ways to market our team. This subgroup is involved with everything we do outside of physically building robots.

Design
The Design sub-group utilizes computer-aided design (CAD) software to 3-D model custom parts and mechanisms for our robot. This sub-group is also in charge of operating and maintaining all of our inhouse precision machines such as the 3D printer and laser engraver.

Drive Train
The Drive Train sub-group is a secondary subgroup under Fabrication which focuses entirely on designing and manufacturing the drive train of the robot.

Fabrication
The Fabrication sub-group works with the other subgroups to design and manufacture the components and frame of the robots. The Fabrication subgroup is also in charge of the general maintenance of the robots.

Graphic Design
The Graphic Design sub-group is a secondary subgroup under Brand Management in charge of creating on-brand collateral for the team such as flyers, posters, logos, uniform designs, etc.

Operations
The Operations sub-group is our administrative subgroup that works on multiple team logistics such as student information, budgeting expenses, maintaining sponsorship, and coordinating competitions.

Programming
The Programming sub-group is responsible for the code used in each robot. This includes code for all physical robot systems, movement, mechanisms, sensors, and autonomous functions.

Research & Development
The Research & Development sub-group is a secondary subgroup under Design. They focus on developing new technologies and equipment for the team that are not directly linked to the robot.
