Our Team
Our Team
RoboTigers, Team 1796, is a group of 30 high school students (grades 9-12) and 8 mentors from Queens Technical High School in Long Island City, New York. Our team is made up of several subgroups, including Brand Management, Electronics, Mechanical, and Programming, with each subgroup and student assigned specific responsibilities. We build a competitive robot by working together and significantly impacting our community.
Our Speciality
Our team has an equal ratio of male and female students, which is a outstanding achievement given the historically male-dominated nature of STEM. Additionally, most of our mentors are former team members, indicating the importance of fostering a sense of community within the STEM field. We are proud that a staggering 95% of our RoboTigers live in minority-populated areas, which shows our commitment to giving underrepresented groups a voice in STEM.
